An Ikeja magistrates’ court in Lagos, on Tuesday, ordered that a 37-year-old primary school driver, Kingsley Okwumbu, be remanded for defiling a three-year-old pupil of the school.

The police charged Okwumbu, who resides in Ikeja, with defilement and sexual assault.

Magistrate Ejiro Kubeinje did not take Okwumbu’s plea and ordered that he should be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, directed the police to send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and adjourned the case to May 10.

Earlier, the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, told the court that Okwumbu committed the offence in March.

He said Okwumbu, being a school bus driver at Beehive Nursery and Primary School, Agidingbi, defiled a three-year-old pupil. (NAN)
