The Niger State chapter of the organised labour has called on the state government to end what they described as anti-workers policy affecting mostly the Ministries of Finance and Local Government with huge financial liabilities.

The group also decried the government’s failure to ensure the security of lives and property of the citizenry who now live at the mercy of armed bandits whose activities, they said, have claimed hundreds of lives and left others with permanent injuries.

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) frowned at bandits’ invasion of the state, including hinterlands and called for the government’s attention.

This was contained in a speech to mark the 2021 International Workers’ Day delivered by the state chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Yakubu Garba.
