Bandits have killed a kidnapped victim in their custody after collecting N1 million ransom from his family, Daily Trust reports.
In February, Daily Trust reported that the bandits invaded the house of the victim at Rigachikun in Igabi Local Government Area and abducted him with others in the area including a bride-to-be.
During the invasion, a customs officer who worked with Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone B, Kaduna was shot and later died in the hospital.
A lady in the area told Daily Trust that the news of the victim’s death came on Tuesday night after his relatives took the ransom to the bandits.
“They shot him after collecting the payment from the man that took the money to them. All the residents were in shock after hearing the news of his death,” she said.
Daily Trust gathered that the victim was buried at Unguwar Shanu community where his family resides. It was also gathered that the bride to be and one other person are still with their captors.
