Governor Nasiru Idris of Kebbi State has assured regular payment of allowances to medical doctors in the state-owned hospitals and health facilities to halt their movement to federal hospitals.

The governor gave the assurance in Birnin Kebbi at a dinner organised in honour of 13 medical doctors from Kebbi, who graduated recently from the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto.

He promised to accord more priority to the health sector and pay allowances to doctors in the state hospitals promptly.

He said, “I will do my best to increase the allowances of doctors and other medical staff to fill the gap between state and federal hospitals.”
