The wife of Kebbi State Governor, Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu, has called for an increase in budgetary allocation to education in the country.
Dr Bagudu, who spoke during an interactive session with journalists in Birnin-Kebbi at the weekend, said there was an urgent need for states and the federal government to give more priority to education and vote more money for it.
She said the money being allocated to education in the states and at the federal level is too small to tackle the challenges in the sector and as well achieve needed results.

‘’Every sector needs more funding, but education needs it more. It is the mother of all sectors. Education affects all sectors,” she said.
The governor’s wife said there was also the need for government to give attention to girl-child education and women empowerment.
“If we educate the girl-child, we will have a better society. Their education is surely very important in every society,” she said.
