FG summons US, UK envoys, others over comments on Twitter ban

The Federal Government has summoned the envoys of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and the European Union over their recent comments on the suspension of Twitter in the country.

The international community had rejected the action of the government, describing it as clamping down on the rights of Nigerians to freedom of expression.

In a statement on Monday, Kimiebi Ebienfa of the Crisis Monitoring and Public Communications Division of the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, asked the diplomatic heads to a meeting with Geoffrey Onyeama, the minister.
