The Chief of Army Staff, Leutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has implored Nigerians to keep faith with the Nigerian Army amidst the current security challenges in the country.

Speaking while commissioning some projects in Sokoto on Saturday, Lagbaja further urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in their support of the Nigerian Army.

According to him, the projects were part of the non-kinetic approaches to combat the security challenges facing the country.

“The Chief of Army Staff’s Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Project was conceptualized to provide support to communities of serving Nigerian Army senior officers across the nation who, through dedication to duty and service to the nation, have risen to the enviable rank of major general in the Nigerian Army.

“The execution of these projects is the Nigerian Army’s way of appreciating law-abiding citizens for their support as well as ensuring that it gives back to society by observing some corporate social responsibilities that will improve the well-being of communities across all geopolitical zones of Nigeria,” Lagbaja who was represented by the General Commanding Officer, 8 Division noted.

He commended the executor of the projects, Major General Maikano Abdullahi, for his passion for his communities.

While thanking the people of the state for their sustained support to the army, Lagbaja reaffirmed the army’s commitment to discharging its constitutional responsibilities of ensuring peace and security through kinetic and non-kinetic operations.

He also reaffirmed the military’s loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian constitution.

The projects include road pavement with street lights, a motorized borehole, renovated primary healthcare facility and basketball court.

General Abdullahi also donated rice and cash to some members of the communities.
