I cannot be intimidated – Masari

I cannot be intimidated or coerced by anyone or group of people to do their bidding to the detriment of the people of Katsina, Governor Aminu Masari has said.

Masari, who appeared to be reacting to a sermon by a religious sect during the Eid prayers, noted that God destined him to be governor at this time and that he is a leader for all.

“Nobody, I repeat, nobody can intimidate or coerce me in my efforts at pushing the state forward. Remember, I am an orphan and have been taking care of myself since I was a child. It is God’s wish that I should rule the state, so I refuse to be distracted”, he said.

The governor added that by the end of the month, during the 30th anniversary, finances of the state will once again be displayed by all to see, adding, “we don’t hide things, we operate an opendoor system for the betterment of all”.

He criticised politicians who aim for certain elective offices, when they do not have the qualification for such positions.

Earlier, the Emir of Katsina Abdulmumin Usman, decried the return of thugs and other miscreants and called for concerted efforts towards addressing the menace.
