The Kano State Government has debunked reports of cholera outbreak in the State.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has listed Kano among the 31 states battling the disease.
But the Public Relations Officer, ministry of health, Kano, Ibrahim Abdullahi, told Daily Trust, on Wednesday, that records shows that the state is free of Cholera.
He said, “According to our findings so far, there is no cholera outbreak in Kano. We don’t have a single case as of now.
“We have seen some reports in the media but we can categorically tell you that there is none.”

Daily Trust reports that the NCDC had said about 1,141 cases were recorded between January and June 11, 2024 while 65 have been confirmed.
As of June 12, 30 deaths were reported from 96 local government areas in 30 states where Kano was said to have recorded 13 confirmed cases and one death.
According to the agency, so far, total deaths amounts to 34 while confirmed cases are 1,288.
