The vigilantes in Edo State have narrated how they arrested a middle-aged man, Emmanuel Ovwarueso, for allegedly beheading his daughter for money rituals.

It was gathered that the suspect was arrested at the Uteh area, Upper Mission Road Extension, Benin City.

A vigilante member, who spoke to journalists, said, “We saw him with a bag on that fateful day walking so fast as if something was chasing him.

“We stopped him, he resisted but we were able to get hold of him.”

The vigilante said when they questioned him about the content of the bag, he said it was food but that upon a search, they found a human head.

He said they took the suspect to his house to find out how he got the human head only to meet his wife tied down.

According to him, the woman said her husband tied her down with a rope before killing their daughter.

“He took us to the place where he buried the little girl’s body in a shallow grave and the body of the girl was exhumed immediately,” the vigilante said.

The spokesperson of the Edo state police command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident.

He said, “It was the vigilante that arrested him. We would made public the details of the investigations.”
