Gunmen on Thursday night abducted seven villagers in Igu, a community in the Sherefe area in Bwari Area Council of the FCT.
A resident, Muhammad Yahaya, told City & Crime that the attackers arrived in the community when most worshippers were in the mosque for the sunset prayers around 6pm.
Yahaya said seven people were abducted amid gunshots and one person critically wounded.
City & Crime was told that the incident was coming just a week after a deposed chief of the community, Chebawaza Sariki, was abducted and released on Saturday night. Also, about a month ago, two persons were abducted from two communities in Sherefe, a nearby village.
