The Federation Of ECOWAS Business Women Entrepreneurs, FEBWE, has partnered Ojodu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, in Lagos to empower women as part of the celebration of the International Women’s Day.

According to the council led by Olusegun Odunmbaku, the event was designed to encourage active participation in business and social development for women.

The seminar featured various presentations from FEBWE and panelists including: the Consular General of The Ghana High Commission, Mrs Samantha Gift Bukhari, who said women empowerment and gender equality should be promoted to achieve an egalitarian society.

National Coordinator of FEBWE, Mrs Omotola Omole highlighted the importance of gender inclusion in all aspects of society, from education to employment and leadership.

She stressed the need for equal opportunities for women and the recognition of their contributions to the community’s progress.

Chairperson of Ojodu LCDA, Mrs Abimbola Odunmbaku who also got inaugurated as member of FEBWE said empowering women in entrepreneurship, as well as in pursuit of gender equality breaks down barriers that hinder the progress of women in business.

She said it is important to pave the way for a future where every woman can thrive as an entrepreneur, innovator, and leader.
