Foundation to host 5km marathon in Abuja council

A sport foundation, Osi Sports Foundation, is organising a 5km marathon competition in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Saturday.

Chairman of the Foundation, Christopher Ameh, who made this known yesterday at a press briefing, said the choice of Kuje for the marathon was strategic, saying the council is a vibrant area with lots of potential and enthusiasm for sports. 

Ameh said cash prizes would be given to the first to sixth positions after the exercise.

He said, “This event is not just a race; it is a celebration of health, unity, and the potential of our youth. It is an opportunity to bring attention to the area and to show that positive activities like this can flourish in Kuje. 

“We believe that sports can be a powerful vehicle for positive social change, offering young people a constructive alternative to the challenges of street life.”
