The Forum of Nigeria Polytechnics Alumni Association (FONPAA) executive committee has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to assent the HND/BSc Dichotomy Act pending on his table to renew hope of millions of Nigerian polytechnic graduates.
The forum made the request in a communiqué signed by the Chairman, Obialor Ibebulke, and Secretary, Goke Ishola, at the end of its committee meeting held at the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti.
The body called for an upgrade of Nigerian polytechnics to degree awarding institutions as obtainable in advanced climes.

“We call for increased funding for Nigerian polytechnics to further aid their academics and improve their overall sundry research works.
“We renew our humble call for the establishment of the National Polytechnics Commission, a body which will solely be for the administration of polytechnic, like the National Universities Commission (NUC).”
