The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Bello, has pleaded with security agents to fish out vandals of critical national assets within the FCT.

The minister, who made the request when he received the management team of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) led by its Commandant General (CG), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, also called for improved synergy among the various security agencies for the overall security of the territory.

The minister disclosed that the FCTA had a long and beneficial working relationship with NSCDC spanning several years, and therefore expressed optimism that it would be maintained.

Malam Bello expressed concern over the spate of vandalisation of national assets in the FCT, including telecommunication ducts, manhole covers, street lights, solar panels at traffic intersections and facilities of the Abuja light rail.

He, therefore, called on the NSCDC to work in conjunction with other security agencies to not only arrest the vandals, but also their sponsors.

Earlier, the NSCDC CG, Audi, commended the minister for all the support NSCDC had enjoyed from the FCTA, while calling for a robust partnership that involved more information sharing between the two organisations for the overall safety of all residents of the territory.
