Fire razes 4 shops in Abuja

An early morning fire on Wednesday razed down four provision shops behind the Maitama Model Market in Kubwa town in Bwari Area Council of the FCT.

One of the victims, Lawali Gyalo, who was sleeping inside his shop at the time of the incident, said he was woken up by the sound of a burst solar battery owned by his neighbour, whose shop was also burnt down.

 Bitalis Akure, the commander of vigilantes in the area, said, “The fire was put out around 7am by firefighters and volunteers.’’
