Residents of the Hausa/Fulani Community in Bogobiri area of Calabar where lines of shops were gutted by fire over the weekend have hailed Governor Bassey Otu of Cross State for providing financial aid.
Head of the community, Alhaji Garba Lawal expressed happiness that the governor was at the scene to see things for himself and feel the devastating effects of the inferno on the traders and occupants of the area.

Otu was accompanied by his deputy, Peter Odey, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Elvert Ayambem, as well as state lawmakers and other principal lawmakers, on Monday morning where he donated N10 million to enable affected traders to start life again.
