The management of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, said it has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire that destroyed its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) unit on Tuesday.
A mild fire outbreak on Thursday had razed down a section of the hospital’s ICT unit.
The management of LASUTH, in a statement by Ms Oluwaseyi Adewale, Head, Public Affairs Department, LASUTH on Thursday, said there were no casualties recorded.
Adewale said the investigation was ongoing to assess the extent of damage to the hospital infrastructure.

“The fire service arrived promptly and the fire was completely put out, and there were no casualties.
“We want to reassure the public and our esteemed clients that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure their continued safety,” the statement read.
Similarly, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said its prompt response to the fire incident ensured that the fire was contained within the room of its origin and prevented it from spreading to other areas.
