A fire outbreak has engulfed the chamber of Katsina State House of Assembly.
The cause of the fire incident, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, is yet to be ascertained.
It was, however, suspected that it started on Tuesday night inside the chamber but was only discovered the following day when cleaners went to sweep the place.
The state fire service, in collaboration with some security personnel around the area, were able to put out the fire quickly.
Addressing journalists, the deputy chief whip of the House, Salisu Hamza Rimaye, and member representing Kankia constituency, said the cause of the fire was still unknown.
Rimaye said engineers would be invited to determine the extent of damage caused by the incident and its possible cause for the next line of action.
He further said that Governor Aminu Bello Masari and some heads of security operatives in the state were at the assembly over the incident.
Rimaye urged people of the state to always put off all their electronics whenever they were leaving their homes or offices to avoid fire outbreaks in the state.
