FG, wade into FMC Lokoja crisis

I am strongly compelled to write this on behalf of the good people of Kogi State particularly those of us that live in Lokoja metropolis over the continuous shut down of the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja for the past seven weeks without any effort from the federal government or the host state government for its re-opening.

As we are all aware, the hospital is the biggest and most equipped in the state but for close to two months, workers there have withdrawn their services due to the invasion of its premises by some hoodlums who came in to vandalize their equipment, offices and carted away valuable items.

This means that lives of workers and patients are not safe in the hospital.  This is rather unfortunate for such an eyesore happening in Kogi State and nobody is talking about it and the police are helpless and they couldn’t make any arrest after two months or thereabouts of the invasion by criminally minded persons.

SPONSOR AD

It must be realized that the ordinary Kogites have been affected badly by this sudden and prolonged closure. This shouldn’t have happened at this time of COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

I want to appeal to the federal government through the Ministry of Health to intervene on behalf of the common man in Kogi State. It is a matter of urgent concern for us all.
