Charles Idahosa, a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) in Edo State, has rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the September 21 governorship election.
Idahosa expressed regret for supporting Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki during the 2020 governorship election in the state.
Speaking to journalists at his residence in Benin City yesterday, Idahosa criticised Obaseki’s remarks during the inauguration of the PDP Campaign Council for the 2024 election, calling them uncomplimentary, especially when accusing defectors from the PDP of receiving huge sums of money before their defection.
Idahosa explained that he left the PDP and rejoined the APC due to what he described as the “damning deeds” of the Obaseki-led administration in the last four years.

He urged the Edo APC leadership to work together ahead of the governorship election, stating that “the greatest misfortune to befall the APC is for Godwin Obaseki to install a successor.”
Pledging his support for the APC governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okphebholo, Idahosa emphasized the need for street survival instinct rather than doctoral degrees or big grammar as criteria for the next governor.
