Ex-council boss elected president of Ilorin emirate union

Adi was elected at the 48th delegates conference of the union held at Fufu, headquarters of Ilorin South Local Government on Thursday. He is to replace Justice Saka Yusuf whose tenure has expired.
A statement by the newly elected National Publicity Secretary of the union, Alhaji Salihu Abdulwahab, said 75 branches represented by four delegates each from all over the country and Benin Republic as well as 54 members of the outgoing national executive were in attendance. Others elected were Dr. S. A. Adebayo as Deputy National President, four national vice-presidents and 13 other executive officers that would run the union’s affairs for the next two years. The statement also debunked rumours that the election was inconclusive.
