Director General, National Council for Arts and Culture,, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, says if crime must end in Nigeria, the youth should be empowered with skills that will enable them to become self-employed.

He said this in Abuja on Wednesday when the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim, visited him in his office.

Runsewe decried that some schools were importing their uniforms thereby making the local tailors and textile producers redundant.

On his part, the NYSC DG said only corps members and staff who tested negative to COVID-19 would be allowed into the camps; while those who tested positive would be handed over to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control for treatment.

He stressed the need to promote a relationship between the NYSC and the NCAC to bring out the talent from corps members both in culture and entertainment so that they could be self-reliant.
