Ondo State governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has appealed to delegates who would take part in the primary election of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) slated for April 20, 2024,  to elect him as the party’s candidate.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, who is one of the major contenders for the party’s ticket, made the appeal during his campaign rally which was held at Ile/Oluji at the weekend.

The governor said the annual dues of about 110,000 party members had been paid to enable them to participate in the primary and pleaded with them to come along with their party membership cards to exercise their franchise on April 20.

“I urge you all to come out in full force on April 20, and cast your votes in my favour. Your unwavering support and dedication in mobilising our party members to support my candidacy have not gone unnoticed.

“I express my gratitude to our party leaders and extend recognition to all our party members. Also, I’m deeply humbled by your confidence in me, “ he said.

He promised to deliver good governance and consolidate the “achievements” so far recorded by his administration if given the mandate.

Recall that the APC has cleared 16 aspirants including Aiyedatiwa to contest the April primary poll ahead of the November 16 governorship election in the state.
