The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has picked Festus Akingbaso, the member representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency of Ondo State as its deputy governorship candidate for the November 16 governorship election in the state.
Akingbaso, popularly known as “FessyWest,” is now the running mate to the party’s governorship candidate, Agboola Ajayi.
The PDP spokesman in the state, Kennedy Peretie, disclosed this Sunday during a chat with our correspondent.
He said, “A committee was set up to review the names of those jostling for the deputy governorship candidate slot, and after several considerations, they settled for him (Festus Akingbaso).
“We are expecting that the Agboola/Akingbaso ticket would lead the party to victory in the November governorship election. It is going to be a big win for the party, considering the political richness of both men.
“He will now replace Samuel Ogunmusi, whose name was earlier submitted to INEC as a “placeholder.”
INEC had said 17 political parties met the requirements to participate in the state governorship election.
