The Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Paul Okpe, has disclosed that the corps arrested 4086 motorists for traffic violations in 2023 in the state.
Giving a breakdown, Okpe said 198 motorists were arrested in January, 157 in February, 306 March, 408 in April, 411 in May, 292 in June, 513 in July, 460 in August, 233 in September, 323 in October, while 397 and 383 were arrest in November and December respectively.

Okpe explained that the offenders were arraigned in mobile courts and fined.
Okpe listed their offences to include dangerous driving, overloading, route violation, over-speeding, use of phone, seatbelt violation and driving without fire extinguishers.
