Driver shot by kidnappers dies in hospital

A commercial driver, Attahiru Abukwo, who was shot by kidnappers  on Shafa-Abakpa-Umaisha Road in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has died in hospital.

Daily Trust had reported that kidnappers last Wednesday evening opened fire on four vehicles returning from Ugya market to Toto in which one of the drivers died, while another sustained bullet wounds and was rushed to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), Gwagwalada, Abuja.

The kidnappers, during the attack, abducted 13 passengers.

A brother of the deceased, Suleiman Saidu, said his younger brother died on Friday at about 11.pm at UATH.

Saidu said, “The doctors tried their best; three of our relations came from Toto to donate blood, but God has destined that my brother will not survive it,  so we accept it as an act of God.”
