Dogara to sponsor surgery for heart disease patients, others

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara will sponsor surgeries for patients with heart problems, a girl born without anus and another with muscular disruptions.
The patients were diagnosed with the life threatening health problems during the free medical outreach sponsored by the Speaker in collaboration with a non-governmental organisation (NGO), Doctors on the Move Africa.
While briefing journalists on Tuesday at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, leader of the Medical Team, Dr Joseph Haruna Kigbu, disclosed that the patients were among the over 18,000 others that turned up for the free medical outreach.
He said that the patients may be flown abroad for the surgeries and treatment.
While speaking, Senior Special Assistant to the Speaker on Media and Publicity, Mr Iliya Habilah, commended the team of doctors for their professional commitment to the people since the beginning of the exercise.
