The traditional ruler of the Uvwie kingdom ‘Ovie of Uvwie’, Abe I has urged the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun to establish Uvwie Police Area Command in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

The monarch made the appeal when the state Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi and his entourage paid him a courtesy visit in his kingdom, at his royal palace in Effurun GRA, Uvwie Local Government Area.

He disclosed that he had written a series of letters in that direction, urging the Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonder Olufemi to make the request a reality.

He also appealed to the commissioner of police to provide the necessary support to enable the DPO to perform better while carrying out their duties.

Responding to the traditional ruler, the Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi lauds the monarch for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage.

CP Olufemi informed the Ovie of Uvwie kingdom that he decided to pay him and his chiefs a visit and to ask for royal prayers and support for him to succeed in his assignment in Delta State.

On the request by the Ovie of Uvwie on the need to establish Uvwie Police Area Command, CP Olufemi promised to facilitate the request.

The commissioner of police informed the Uvwie monarch that he and his men would continue to curb crime in the kingdom and Delta state in general.
