Delta State has become the first state to officially launch Scouts for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Nigeria in a historic ceremony at West End Mixed Secondary School, Asaba.
Scouts for SDGs is a unique strategy to engage youngsters in the development of their communities while providing an opportunity for them to learn valuable skills such as courage, kindness, community service, leadership, problem-solving, and brotherhood.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on SDGs, Diana Ereyitomi Eyo-Enoette, also received an investiture as the State Headquarters Commissioner, Scouts for SDGs Delta State.
Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services, and Girl Child Development, Ms. Orode Uduaghan, who was decorated as Ambassador Scouts for SDGs, emphasised the state’s commitment to making SDG indicators Delta-specific by analysing possible linkages and synergising to localise Agenda 2030 producing a “Delta-oriented” approach for future SDG implementation.

This milestone marks a significant step forward for Delta State in its commitment to the SDGs and Governor Sheriff F.O Oborevwori’s dedication to empowering future generations.
