Delta State Government said it is taking measured steps in restoring the local economy as it announced the reopening of film houses and eateries.
The State commissioner for information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, announced this Thursday, while briefing newsmen on further relaxation of restrictions put in place in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Commissioner, however, stated that the cinemas and movie centres would operate strictly at 50 percent capacity, while the eateries must serve only a lar cate not buffet, whilst advising them to constantly fumigate their halls.
“This is because we cannot guarantee that they will not allow everybody to eat from the same spoons”, he added.
He warned that wearing of face masks is very important as government will continue to monitor and enforce compliance in public places.
“All the COVID-19 protocols prescribed by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Federal Ministry of Health will continue to be in force and should be observed by the entertainment centres, hotels and individuals in vehicles and public places”, he stressed.
He further explained that the relaxation of restrictions directive does not include clubs and lounges, which would remain closed.
“Clubs still remain closed for now until we are sure of them observing those protocols,” Aniagwu said.
According to him, the state government is also not contemplating reopening of schools soon.
According to him, the federal government gave the state N100 million as cash palliative since the outbreak of the pandemic, aside technical collaboration with the supervising federal agency, NCDC.
