Ogun State House of Assembly has expressed worry over the non-compliance by some residents, with the provisions of the Disease Health Protection Regulations 2021, recently signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.

To this end, the Assembly has directed the ministries of health and environment to double their efforts, towards ensuring that the people abide by safety protocols on COVID-19, especially at public places and gatherings.

The Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, who said this at plenary in Abeokuta, noted that there has been total disregard to safety protocol most especially in public places despite the increase in the spate of the virus.

Oluomo, admonished residents to observe the stipulated guidelines in containing the spread of the deadly disease by maintaining social distance and using face masks, among others.
