Court remands man for stealing date fruits

A Kano Sharia Court in Fagge on Wednesday remanded a 40-year-old man, Kabiru Hamisu, in a correctional centre, for allegedly stealing a bag of dates worth N70,000, and 90,000 CFA francs.

The police charged Hamisu, who resides in Hotoro Quarters, Kano with theft.

He pleaded not guilty and the judge, Malam Isma’il Muhammad-Ahmed, ordered his remand and adjourned the matter until May 8 for further mention.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Mr Abdul Wada, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 18 at Fagge Quarters, Kano. (NAN)
