The corpse of a nine-year-old girl identified as Hafsat has been recovered from a well in Kwanan Mada village in Kwali Area Council of the FCT.
A neighbour, Ishaku Labaran, said the incident happened around 7am on Saturday when the girl’s mother went to fetch water from the well.

He said, “It was after the girl’s mother had finished fetching water from the well, unknown to her, the girl picked a small bucket and dipped it inside the well and in the process slipped into the well.
“The woman who did not see her child for some time raised alarm. Some neighbours later discovered the corpse of the girl inside the well.”
