Bayero University Kano (BUK) has honoured Dr. Hajara Umar-Sanda of the Faculty of Communication for her outstanding performance as Deputy Dean, Students Affairs, for two terms.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Sagir Abbas, who presented the award and letter of commendation to Dr Umar-Sanda at a brief ceremony held at the Deanery of Student Affairs, lauded her immense contribution to the institution while serving as the deputy dean of student affairs.

He said BUK found it necessary to honour the lecturer for her commitment, dedication and hard work in moving the Student Affairs forward when she held sway as the Deputy Dean, Student Affairs.

“Following the expiration of your tenure as Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, I write on behalf of the Deanery and Management of Student Affairs to express our profound gratitude and appreciation for your commitment, dedication and hard work in moving the Student Affairs forward.

“You really left behind an indelible mark and positive impression that would be continuously used for the betterment of the unit as well as staff and students,” the letter noted.

The honourary letter was signed by Anisatu Uwais Muhammad, Deputy Registrar and Secretary, Student Affairs on behalf of Dean, Student Affairs.
