This is coming barely a month since the deceased survived an accident with a minor injury while on Governor Zulum’s convoy after a week tour in south Borno.

He is survived by two wives, 5 children, an aged father and relatives.

The spokesman of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, Malam Isa Gusau, confirmed the incident, saying the police had commenced an urgent investigation into his death.

“Governor Zulum received the news with intense shock and profound grief. The governor mourns alongside the late commissioner’s family, other loved ones, friends, associates and members of the State Executive Council.

“The late Ibrahim Idriss Garba was the governor’s special adviser on special projects before he was elevated and appointed a commissioner at the commencement of Zulum’s ongoing second term.

“May Allah forgive the commissioner’s shortcomings and admit him into Aljanna,” Gusau said.
