Borno State governor Prof Babagana Umara Zulum Friday reopened the busy Dikwa-Gamboru Ngala Road and donated 20 new Hilux vehicles to the military, civilian JTF and hunters for patrol and surveillance of the road.
The governor, flanked by the Theatre Commander of Joint Military Taskforce in the North East Operation Hadinkai, Major General Christopher Musa, and other senior military officers, flagged off the reopening of the road for commercial activities at Muna entrance gate in Maiduguri and Dikwa town.

Speaking during the event, Zulum said:”Gamboru Ngala- Maiduguri Road was closed because of the insurgents; however, the road was reopened three years ago with limited access. This morning, we are witnessing the reopening of the road from Maiduguri- Dikwa to Gamboru Ngala with unlimited access.”
Zulum explained that the government has provided millions of naira and necessary logistics to support the Nigeria Armed Forces and other security agents in their surveillance activities along the axis.
The governor also appealled to motorists, particularly commercial drivers plying the Dikwa-Gamboru Ngala road, to be law abiding by observing traffic regulations and obeying the instructions of security operatives along the road.
