The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State in the last general elections, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd) has expressed confidence that he will reclaim his mandate at the election tribunal.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate and the state’s governor, Bala Mohammed as the winner of the March 18 governorship election in Bauchi.
Bala scored 525,280 votes to defeat other contenders, including APC’s Sadique Abubakar, who came second with 432,272 votes.

Briefing journalists yesterday at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, shortly after he returned to the state, the APC candidate said, “We have hope in God and the judiciary to retrieve our stolen mandate in sha Allah.”
He claimed that he won the election and was ready to prove that at the tribunal.
“I want to believe that the judicial system in Nigeria is reliable, and I am sure that at the end of the day, we get back our mandate,” he said.
