Troops deployed in operation Idon Raini on Monday rescued eight hostages who were earlier kidnapped along Maganda – Sofo Birnin Gwari road in Kaduna State.

‎The troops who were on clearance patrol along Maganda – Funtua road revealed that the hostages rescued include, three men, two women and ‎three children.

In a statement signed by the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu he added that the troops also recovered some items from the bandits which include, ‎One red Golf car, a  trailer and ‎two boxes of clothes belonging to one of the passengers.

Meanwhile, troops of the Nigerian Army on patrol to Nachibi village recovered a motorcycle abandoned by the bandits when he sighted the troops approaching.

In another operation, the troops encountered bandits at Maidaro village where they were rustling some cows.

Three members of the vigilante sustained gun shot wounds while one person was killed in action during the encounter.

The troops recovered ‎one motorcycle from the bandits.

Brigadier General Texas Chukwu called on the public to report any suspicious movements to law enforcement agents while being security conscious.
