Enugu Rangers win eighth Nigerian league title

Enugu Rangers were crowned Nigerian league champions for the eighth time on Sunday after a 2-0 home win over Bendel Insurance took them to an unassailable 67 points.

Closest rivals Remo Stars and Enyimba both lost with a round of matches to the end of the season.

Kenechukwu Agu put Rangers in front after 32 minutes before Chidiebere Nwobodo doubled the lead on 65 minutes.

In his reaction, an elated Rangers’ Coach, Fidelis Illechukwu, said: ”We are the champions; we are the champions of 2023/2024 NFFL. It’s not easy to be a champion.”
