The abducted District Head of Pandan-Gwari in Bwari Area Council of the FCT, Ezekiel Baba, alongside five of his subjects, have regained their freedom after the payment of N8 million to their abductors.
City & Crime had reported that bandits on December, 26, 2023, invaded the palace of the district head and whisked him and five of his subjects away.
Confirming the release of the victims through telephone on Wednesday, a resident of Kawu, Usman Yakubu, said the district head and the five others were released on Monday around 6pm in a forest in Kaduna State.
Yakubu explained that, “And apart from the N8m, foodstuffs, including Indian hemp, wine and recharge cards worth N437,000, were purchased for the bandits.”
Yakubu further said the district head was receiving treatment in the hospital.
