The abducted village Chief of Bishini, Danbayi Samuel and his children have regained their freedom after payment of N8 million ransom including food stuffs and drugs by the victims family.
City& Crime had reported that bandits invaded the chief’s palace and whisked away the chief and his four children on April, 16, 2024.
The chief’s had earlier demanded for N25 million, in which the eldest son of the chief Ishaya Goje, angrily told his father’s abductors that had no such money but the bandits’ leader called the chief’s son a drunkard.
Confirming the release of the village chief through telephone to our reporter on Sunday, an aide to the chief who preferred anonymity, said the chief and his four children were released on Friday, around 6:12 pm.
He said the family rode a motorcycle to a forest around Rijana to pickup the chief and his four children back to home.

“But the village is currently in the hospital undergoing treatment as he could not walk as they conveyed him on a motorcycle because his two legs has swollen due to the way the bandits tied his both legs with rope” he said.
The spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command, SP Hassan Mansur is yet to confirm the release of the village chief as messages sent to him have not been replied up till the time of filing the report.
