After two weeks of intensive training, Saraya Yusuf emerged the overall winner of the just concluded Children Golf Development Clinic which was held at the IBB Golf and Country club Abuja.
The event tagged “Future Champions of Golf” was put together by the club’s Ladies section for children between age 5 and 18.
“I’m glad to have emerged champion and I learnt so many things during this program which I know will be useful to me in life,” said Yusuf.
The Vice Lady captain and chairman of the clinic, Mrs Joy Ikwue was ecstatic at the huge turnout of the kids as well as the successes recorded.
“We are glad and happy that everything went well. We had over 120 children who participated in this clinic. Some of them who knew nothing about golf can show you how to swing and hit the ball now,” she said.
Ikwue also said the kids were taught how to be organised and coordinated which golf as a game reaches.
“We have been saying it that golf is life in the sense that you can never know what will happen tomorrow and you need to be coordinated and organised,” she added
