Some travellers wereMonday abducted by unknown gunmen on the Ilesa-Akure expressway.
It was learnt that the suspected kidnappers stopped the vehicle conveying the travellers and took some of them into the bush while some of them escaped.

The Field Commander of the Amotekun Corps in the State, Chief Amitolu Shitu confirmed the incident.

He said “We have been informed that some people were abducted on the Akure highway and relevant authorities have also been briefed.
Shitu said policemen have been deployed on rescue operation in collaboration with the Amotekun corps and assured that the victims would be rescued.
