A Philanthropist, Alhaji Hussaini Bokane, has donated hospital equipment worth more than N250 million to Bauchi state government.
He said the gesture was to help the poor and low income earners in the rural and urban areas of the state to easily have access to basic medical care in public hospitals.
Alhaji Hussaini Bokane, who is the Chairman of Abuja-based Lautech Solutions Limited, said most public hospitals lack the needed equipment to enable them deliver services to the patients.
He said the donation would assist the government to address some of the challenges facing the state health sector.
Hussaini said the organization has embarked on supporting state governors to improve the standard of health service in their respective states for the well-being of their people.
The chairman appealed for judicious use of the items so that they would make the desired impact.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr Yahaya Yarima, said the donated equipment would assist in addressing the shortage of facilities in hospitals across the state.
He enjoined well-to-do individuals and corporate bodies to join hands in improving the healthcare of Nigerians for a better society.
