Court remands 2 over murder

Two persons, Ibrahim Ikudaisi and Tajudeen Ibrahim, were yesterday remanded in prison by a Magistrate’s Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, for allegedly killing 18-year-old  Mohammed Saka.
It was gathered that the case was transferred from the Divisional Police Headquarters in Afon to the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Ilorin.
Daily Trust learnt that on October 11, one Saka Yusuf reported at the station that on October 10, Ibrahim Ikudaisi,Tajudeen Ibrahim and one other person who is currently at large, threw Mohammed Saka into Asa River for ritual purpose.
The prosecution said, “Investigation conducted at the Department revealed that the accused persons lured the deceased from his house to Asa River, Afon, to have a bath, but that they threw him into the river and he drowned.”
The accused who were arraigned over criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide, offences that are contrary to Sections 97 and 221 of the Penal Code, pleaded not guilty to the crime.
Magistrate A. Bello ordered their remand at the Federal Prison Yard, Oke-Kura, Ilorin and adjourned the matter for further mention.
