DFID pledges support for Nigeria’s infrastructure master plan

Hutcheon, who is in charge of DFID Programmes in Nigeria, made this promise yesterday when she led her team on a courtesy visit to the Minister of National Planning, Dr Abubakar Sulaiman in his office in Abuja.
NIIMP is Nigeria’s 30 year blueprint (2014 – 2043) for accelerated infrastructure development in the country.
Hutcheon also pledged that the DFID will partner with the National Planning Commission (NPC) in monitoring of projects embarked upon by the DFID in order to avoid duplication and also ensure that the programmes are aligned to Nigeria’s national priorities.
The Minister thanked the delegation and expressed optimism that the infrastructure development plan for the country would drive the economy for inclusive growth and the good of all Nigerians.
