Students’ transfer: Michika PTA rejects movement to Katsina

Following the Feb. 20 insur-gents’ attack on FGC Buni-Yadi in Yobe, the Federal Ministry of Education closed down five Unity Schools in the North-east and Federal Government Science and Technical College, Michika in Adamawa State is one of them.
The school’s PTA chairman, Mr Elijah Kwada, told newsmen that the parents held a meeting to discuss the issue.
“We had a meeting on Mon-day and resolved that our children are not going anywhere,’’ Kwada said.
He said the parents also resolved to rather demand for adequate security in the school and not the transfer of their children. “How sure are we that even Katsina is safe?’’ the PTA chairman said.
He however said the asso-ciation had put the parents’ position into writing and would take it to the Federal Ministry of Education.
Kwada said the children were now at home and their parents would rather, if need be, find  them alternative schools. (NAN)
