This was disclosed by the Director General/Chief Executive Officer of NARICT, Professor Idris Mohammed Bugaje, at the just concluded 35th Kaduna International Trade Fair.
The council’s intervention in establishing some investment projects and provision of improved seedling, he said, is aimed at diversifying the economy of the state as well as that of the country.
He said the prevailing tropical climate, savanna vegetation, as well as the topography of the state has made it richly endowed with abundant agricultural minerals capable of changing the industrial climate of not only the state but the nation at large.
Similarly, the acting Director General of RMRDC, Dr. Hassan Ibrahim, noted that the council has over the years sponsored programmes and projects geared towards promoting the growth of processed technology and resource-based industries in Nigeria.
He also reiterated that the distribution of climate and ecological zones in the state allows for the production of a large number of agricultural raw materials.
On the establishment of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) cluster as a strategy for socio-economic development and transformation, he said the cluster concept as adopted in the industrial development strategy of the nation is aimed at creating a geographical concentration of firms belonging to the same complementary business, which offers opportunities for the MSME to have a common facility and grow by facilitating specialization and collective efficiency.
