Supreme Court judgement: Gov Aliyu alleges plot by politicians to take over government

He revealed that the verdict which tilted to his favour came as a surprise to his political detractors as their plan to rid of him and his executive members was brought to a crashing halt.

He disclosed that the group of alleged plotters who had been thinking that the ruling was going to be against him had already concluded plans on replacing him as governor and those to be named commissioners were already waiting to take over.

“I thank God for what he has done for us because some people were already set to go against what Allah has already placed for us and they failed to know that only God gives power to whom He pleases.

“In their thinking, they thought by now the state executive would have been dissolved and they would have placed their own executive yesterday as they have already concluded that the judgement would be in their favour,” he said.

Aliyu who was speaking at a commissioning ceremony of projects at the Chanchaga area of Minna yesterday explained that he earlier urged the chairman of the local government to change the earlier date from 3rd to 17th of July irrespective of the outcome of the Supreme Court.

He urged people in Niger to shun any form of rumour tailored at causing disaffection in the state, as he maintained that it is the wish of some individuals to scuttle the progress his administration is making.

The governor re-named the hospital which was earlier named after him to be known as Senator Idris Kuta memorial hospital, saying the gesture was a sign of recognition for his laudable achievement while he was alive.

He therefore urged government and people to always recognise the hard work of notable Nigerians, stressing that only through such moves can the younger generation emulate the good work of falling heroes.
